We are pleased to share the MEDEA Annual Report 2025, highlighting our work in media regulation, digital governance, innovation, and fundamental rights across Europe, the Mediterranean, Africa, and the Middle East.
In 2025, MEDEA further strengthened its role as an international platform for evidence‑based policymaking and regulatory innovation, supporting institutions and other public and private stakeholders in addressing the rapidly evolving digital media, platform, and communications landscape. Alongside media policy, we also expanded our expertise in AI, digital innovation, telecom regulation, digital markets, and the digital economy.
2025 Highlights
• Strategic engagement in EU and Council of Europe initiatives, including media reform, electoral integrity projects, and EU–Ukraine regulatory cooperation.
• High‑level contributions to policy and regulatory debates on DSA, EMFA, AVMSD, and AI governance.
• Expert advisory support to regulators and public authorities on platform governance, media freedom, protection of minors, and systemic risk assessment.
• Research and analysis on AI, digital markets, telecom, and digital infrastructure.
