MEDEA participated in the EBEN Research Conference 2025 with a dedicated panel on “Ethical Governance of Digital Platforms: Challenges and Opportunities.” The conference, co-hosted by the European Business Ethics Network (EBEN) and its Spanish Chapter, took place from October 8–10, 2025, at the Faculty of Business & Economics, University of Cádiz, Spain.

The panel was organized and chaired by Adriana Mutu, Assistant Professor at ESIC Business & Marketing School, Barcelona, and a founding member of MEDEA. It featured distinguished panelists: Marius Dragomir (Director, Media and Journalism Research Center, University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain), Francesco Sciacchitano (Senior Legal Officer, Agcom, Italy), Teodor Răileanu-Olariu (Assistant Professor, “Al.I.Cuza” University, Iași, Romania), and Sven-Ove Horst (Assistant Professor, Erasmus University Rotterdam).
The MEDEA panel explored issues surrounding digital platform governance, including regulation and policy frameworks, ethical use of data, media audiences and organizations in the digital era, and ethical leadership and accountability in platform management.
The conference was organized by Professors Jesús Barrena Martínez, Esther Ferrándiz, and Jaime Sánchez of the University of Cádiz, who served as co-chairs of the organizing committee. The event program featured two distinguished keynote speakers: Professor Emeritus Thomas Donaldson (University of Pennsylvania, USA), recognized as one of the founders of modern business ethics, and Professor Laureate Michael Morley (University of Limerick, Ireland), an expert in international human resource management and corporate social responsibility.
